Following the Spring Festival Gala’s humanoid robot cluster performance that went viral across the internet, the industrialization wave of humanoid robots is advancing at a visibly accelerating pace. At the policy level, national-level embodied intelligence support policies continue to be introduced, with local governments actively following up on implementation. At the industry level, over 140 enterprises globally have entered the track, with more than 330 products released, six unicorns with valuations exceeding 10 billion RMB, and over 30 companies preparing for IPO. A hundred-billion-level track is now fully opening.

According to Pacific Securities’ research report, humanoid robots have become the next disruptive product after smartphones and electric vehicles. Locomotion control “cerebellum” is increasingly mature, while AI large models serving as the “brain” are rapidly evolving. The industry has officially crossed the research and development phase and entered the critical stage of mass production and commercialization validation.

Global humanoid robot production capacity is concentrating in China. In 2025, global deliveries exceeded 14,500 units, almost all from Chinese enterprises, with the two leading companies accounting for 75% of shipments. China’s supply chain advantages, cost advantages, and scenario advantages are fully manifested. From a regional distribution perspective, four cities—Beijing, Shanghai, Shenzhen, and Hangzhou—gather half of the industry’s strength, each forming distinctive industrial clusters characterized by research-driven innovation, engineering implementation, hardware closed-loop, and AI intelligent driving. Cities such as Suzhou, Wuxi, and Hefei are rapidly following suit. China is building the most complete humanoid robot industry ecosystem globally.

Domestic enterprises have already pulled ahead globally in shipment volume. In 2025, China’s leading enterprises all surpassed the 1,000-unit shipment threshold, with Unitree Robotics and Zhiyuan Robot leading the industry. Chinese enterprises have transitioned from followers to dominant players in global mass production, continuously enhancing their industry influence.

Within the industry, two distinct generational school of thought have emerged clearly, with 2023 serving as a definitive dividing line. Enterprises founded before 2023 belong to the pragmatic school,大多 extending from quadruped robots, collaborative robots, and service robots, with teams dominated by mechanical, control, and supply chain backgrounds. They focus on delivery capability and commercialization, having already achieved cash flow models. Enterprises founded after 2023 belong to the AI-driven school, led by talent from large models, embodied intelligence, and autonomous driving. Their technical routes shift toward end-to-end VLA models, world models, and embodied intelligence, emphasizing intelligent generalization capabilities and full-stack hardware-software layout, redefining the ultimate form of robots. Meanwhile, automakers are collectively entering the cross-boundary arena—XPeng, Changan, Chery, Li Auto, and SERES have all laid out plans, migrating their vehicle manufacturing technology, supply chain, and capital advantages into the humanoid robot track, initiating their second growth curve.

Current humanoid robot technology exhibits obvious structural maturity disparities. The limb layer’s motion control has reached maturity, with linear joints, force-sensing sensors, and whole-body stabilization solutions increasingly refined. Front flips, complex operations, and agile movement have all been achieved. The true bottlenecks lie in the “brain” centered on large models and dexterous hands for precise interaction. Dexterous hands have upgraded from 11 degrees of freedom to 22 degrees of freedom, yet transmission schemes are still iterating—it remains the final stronghold on the hardware side. On the AI side, architecture has shifted from layered design to end-to-end VLA models, greatly enhancing generalization capabilities, but still requiring massive real-world data for training. The data flywheel has become the core driving force for robot evolution. Real-scenario data, multi-modal collection, and model iteration form a closed loop—the more data is used, the more capabilities are strengthened. Real machine data has become the most scarce strategic resource.

Currently, humanoid robots are not comprehensively entering consumer markets but are concentrated in four application scenarios: data collection centers, scientific research institutions, display and services, and industrial manufacturing. Government-led data collection and automobile manufacturing scenarios contribute the largest order volumes, becoming the industry’s earliest and most critical support. The industry also exhibits阶段性 characteristics such as long delivery cycles and high proportions of related-party transactions. Mass production ramp-up still requires time, and true popularization to C-end households needs another 3-5 years. In terms of market size, the industry is at the starting point of exponential growth. Global sales in 2025 were only 17,000 units, but by 2035 they could exceed 10 million units—a nearly 600-fold increase over ten years. China’s本体 market is growing from hundreds of billions to trillions of RMB.

In 2025, funding events in China’s embodied intelligence field exceeded 325, with amounts approaching 40 billion RMB—a year-on-year growth of over 200%. Capital highly concentrated among leading enterprises in Beijing, Shanghai, Shenzhen, and Hangzhou. At least six unicorn enterprises with valuations exceeding 10 billion RMB emerged in the industry, and over 30 supply chain companies initiated IPO processes. The capital market granted extremely high premiums to core component enterprises, with R&D intensity far exceeding traditional manufacturing. High growth, high barriers, and high domestic substitution potential have become capital consensus.

In hardware cost structures, screws, dexterous hands, and sensors account for the highest proportion with the strongest technical barriers and broadest domestic substitution space, making them the most elastic investment directions across the entire industry chain. Six-axis force sensors, servo motors, and reducers similarly entered a period of rapid explosion.

As humanoid robots transition from the digital world into the physical world, security risks are amplified synchronously. Cloud attacks, AI deception, and physical intrusion could all lead to robot loss of control, causing personal injury, while current industry security mechanism maturity is significantly insufficient. Among the ten high-risk security threats, the failure of security fallback mechanisms ranks highest. The entire industry must establish emergency stop, ethics, and veto triple protection systems. The industry’s explosive growth has triggered a surge in talent demand. New positions in humanoid robotics grew by 215.8%, with average annual salaries exceeding 400,000 RMB. Algorithm engineers, mechanical structure engineers, and robotics engineers have the strongest demand, while architects and R&D directors showing faster growth. Cross-disciplinary composite talents have become core competitiveness.

The industry offers more than just整机 as a path. Traditional enterprises and SMEs can fully enter through complementary innovation. Four directions—industrial chain interfaces, standard blanks, scenario customization, and interdisciplinary—can all transform industry experience into robotics patents and products. Medical康养, industrial services, and home scenarios have clear demand. Consumers most value safety and practicality, while price remains the biggest barrier to popularization.
